UPJ's Visual Communication Design Study Program Receives PKKM Grant from Ministry of Education and Culture Worth Almost 1 Billion Rupiah

Bintaro, South Tangerang – April 25, 2024 – UPJ has once again been designated as the winner of the 2024 PKKM Grant in the Liga-3 category, through its Visual Communication Design (DKV) Study Program, with a grant amount totaling almost Rp 1 billion. The PKKM Grant (Merdeka Campus Competency Program) for the year 2024 is intended for accelerating the implementation of the Free Learning Merdeka Campus policy or MBKM at UPJ, especially in the DKV program.

The 2024 Merdeka Campus Competition Program organized by Dikti-Ristek this time provides PKKM grant funds only to around 350 study programs from both public and private universities across Indonesia.
In the previous year, UPJ received the same grant and successfully improved several Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) of the Merdeka Campus, especially in KPI 2 (students gaining learning experiences outside the campus), KPI 3 (lecturers engaging in activities outside the campus), KPI 6 (increased cooperation among study programs), KPI 7 (collaborative and participative learning). The significant improvement of UPJ's KPI 6 has also been recognized by the Ministry of Education and Culture through the achievement of the Golden Award for the Best Industry Collaboration PTS in Indonesia in 2023.

"In the 2024 PKKM Grant Program, UPJ focuses on accelerating the quality of lecturers and students, especially in the Visual Communication Design Study Program, through strategic cooperation with the Business and Industrial World (DUDI) as part of MBKM," said Agustinus Agus Setiawan, Vice Rector for Academic Affairs & Student Affairs at UPJ.

The Visual Communication Design Study Program is also one of the accredited B-grade flagship study programs at Universitas Pembangunan Jaya. Along with the government's policy to develop the creative industry as one of the mainstays of Indonesia's economy, it has had a significant impact on increasing public interest in continuing their studies in the Visual Communication Design Study Program, which is closely aligned with the development of the creative industry. Visual communication design plays a significant role in the creative industry such as culinary, fashion, crafts, TV and radio, publishing, architecture, product design, music, and advertising.
