UPJ's Participation in the Self-Reliant Higher Education Institution Community Service for Village Development Program in 2024

The Self-Reliant Higher Education Institution Community Service Initiative for Village Development is an integral part of the implementation efforts of Regulation of the Minister of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology Number 53 of 2023, aimed at realizing the concept of Independent Free Campus in the areas covered by the Higher Education Services Agency (LLDIKTI) Region IV. This program aims to strengthen pentahelix collaboration, which is synergistic cooperation between LLDIKTI Region IV, higher education institutions, local governments, and communities to encourage active participation in sustainable development in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Universitas Pembangunan Jaya (UPJ) participates in the program organized by the Higher Education Services Agency Region IV of West Java-Banten, namely the Self-Reliant Higher Education Institution Community Service for Village Development in 2024. In this program, 2 (two) students representing UPJ, namely Nabila Islamiah and Maheswari Widyaningsih from Accounting Study Program Batch 2021, were appointed. The students will carry out Community Service Program (KKN) activities for the next 4 (four) months, joining students from other universities to collaborate in implementing joint programs.

The community service coordinator, Fitriyah Nurhidayah, M.Si, Head of the Student Affairs and Alumni Office, Mr. Fauzan Joko, and representatives of Academic Advisors (PA), Dr. Agustine Dwianika, accompanied the students to Sawahdadap Village, Sumedang. Despite her busy schedule, Inka Zakiyah, S.Pd., M.M., the Secretary of Sawahdadap Village, along with other village officials, made time to welcome the UPJ delegation on Monday, February 19, 2024.

In this activity, it is hoped that students can apply the knowledge they have acquired in their lectures to community life, while also developing their characters and honing their soft skills in collaboration, leadership, communication, and applying their knowledge to solve problems with the rural community.
