Proud Moment! Universitas Pembangunan Jaya's Architecture Department Wins 3rd Place for Best University Booth at Indo Build Tech Part 1 2024
Bintaro, South Tangerang, 25/06/2024 – Proud achievement was attained by the UPJ Architecture Study Program at the IndoBuild Tech 2024 exhibition, part one. In this exhibition, the Architecture Department won 3rd place as the Best University Booth.
IndoBuild Tech 2024 is an international-scale exhibition aimed at defining innovation in the industry. IndoBuild Tech 2024 is divided into two parts, part 1 on June 12-16, 2024, and part 2 on August 7-11, 2024. IndoBuild Tech 2024 part 1 was held at the Indonesia Convention Center (ICE), BSD City, and was attended by more than 500 brands from nine representative countries: Indonesia, China, Qatar, Japan, South Korea, Turkey, Taiwan, Singapore, and Malaysia.
At the IndoBuild Tech 2024 exhibition, the booth of Universitas Pembangunan Jaya impressed with its display of the best works from Architectural Design, Pointillist Nirnama, Student Final Projects, and Building Structure Models. The theme chosen by UPJ Architecture was a clean white display with warm lighting and an installation resembling mist to create a luxurious appearance. The elegantly designed exhibition and the best works from UPJ Architecture students were the main reasons the UPJ Architecture booth won third place in the exhibition.
Titus Kurniawan, ST., M.Ars, the advisor of Himaraskara (UPJ Architecture Student Association) and a lecturer in the UPJ Architecture Study Program, stated that the Universitas Pembangunan Jaya Architecture booth came with the design concept of “Candidness” or straightforwardness. Using transparent fabric materials and raw wood materials showed that architecture can present in simplicity and straightforwardness yet still look elegant and dignified. It displayed the interaction between indoor and outdoor spaces and visitor activities in understanding the works of UPJ Architecture students.
“According to many visitors' feedback, the UPJ Architecture IBT exhibition booth that we designed was the coolest and most aesthetic booth. Hopefully, at the next IBT event, the UPJ architecture booth can be even cooler,” said Riki Riyanto, head of the exhibition division and designer of the UPJ architecture booth.
“The exhibition concept at IBT this time is quite different from other UPJ Architecture exhibitions. This time the exhibition concept is simple and clean, not many works are displayed but this is what makes our concept simple. This year’s exhibition was very good, the cooperation among the committee was also good and we won the 3rd place award for booth design. My hope for exhibitions in the coming years is that the committee's cohesiveness is always good and enthusiastic,” said Adelia Puspitasari, head of the UPJ architecture booth exhibition committee.
It is hoped that this achievement will motivate the entire academic community of UPJ to continue innovating and improving the quality of their work. Hopefully, in future exhibitions, the UPJ Architecture booth can appear more impressive and achieve even higher achievements.
