"Grow with UPJ", A Brief Getaway for Alumni and Students at Muara Angke Wildlife Reserve
Bintaro, South Tangerang, 17/07/2024 – The Jaya Career Center (JCC) and the Student Affairs and Alumni Bureau (BKAL) of Universitas Pembangunan Jaya (UPJ) once again held a reunion event titled "Grow with UPJ" on Saturday (July 13, 2024). The event, held at the Muara Angke Wildlife Reserve, Kapuk Muara, North Jakarta, was a special moment for UPJ alumni and students to gather, socialize, and strengthen their bonds.
"Grow with UPJ" is not just an ordinary reunion. This event was designed with various interesting and beneficial activities, ranging from Mangrove tree planting and inspiring seminars to networking sessions that opened up collaboration and personal development opportunities for alumni and students.
One of the main activities in "Grow with UPJ" was the planting of Mangrove trees at the Muara Angke Wildlife Reserve. This activity represents UPJ's commitment to environmental sustainability and educated participants on the importance of preserving the mangrove ecosystem.
The networking session was one of the main attractions of "Grow with UPJ". Alumni and students had the opportunity to meet each other, build friendships, and create professional networks beneficial for their future.
Nadira Siti, a 2017 alumna and the event chair of Grow with UPJ, expressed her hopes for this "alumni reunion". "The hope is that through communication between students and alumni, first, they will be more sociable. Second, friends won't just be fellow students. Third, they will be exposed to the realities of the working world, making them more open-minded," she said.
UPJ Vice Rector I, Dr. Ir. Agustinus Agus Setiawan, S.T., M.T., IPM., also expressed his support for the event. "I strongly support the collaborative activities between UPJ alumni and students at this event. I hope this event can be a platform for alumni and students to share experiences and build connections," he said.
It is hoped that this gathering between alumni and students can be held again in the coming years with a broader range of alumni and participation from more students. Thank you and best wishes to all the committee members, JCC, and BKAL who initiated the Grow with UPJ event!
