Universitas Pembangunan Jaya Students Participate in Designing the Science and Technology Research and Innovation Indicators (IIRI) Book
Bintaro, South Tangerang, 08/08/2024 – Five students from the Information Systems Program (SIF) at Universitas Pembangunan Jaya (UPJ) took part in the design of the Science and Technology Research and Innovation Indicators (IIRI) book, a publication that reveals the strength of science and technology, research, and innovation in Indonesia. The book was officially launched at the INARI EXPO 2024, a Research and Innovation Exhibition held at the ICC Building, Soekarno Science and Technology Area, Cibinong, Bogor Regency.
The students who participated in this project are Yoana Rachel Octalirena Surbakti, Vadya Azzahra, Goldfried Marchelino, Sabrina Trixie Rustandiputri, and Chairul Djamil, under the guidance of the UPJ Information Systems Program lecturer, Drs. Johannes Siregar, M.Ed., Ph.D. The book's design process involved intensive collaboration between the student team and a research team from the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN), aiming to create work that is not only innovative but also informative.
"The Science and Technology Research and Innovation Indicators book presents data and achievements in research and innovation in Indonesia. We hope that the design created by the students can strengthen the delivery of the information within it," said Johannes, the students' supervising lecturer.
This collaboration was a valuable experience for the students, giving them the opportunity to be directly involved in a project that impacts on a national scale. "Collaborative research between students and BRIN during their college years will build a strong foundation for their future careers and prepare them to face job challenges," Johannes added.
This book is expected to become a valuable resource for stakeholders in assessing the achievements and potential of research and innovation in Indonesia. The contribution of the Universitas Pembangunan Jaya Information Systems Program students in designing this book is tangible proof of how higher education can directly support the advancement of science and technology in the country.
