13th Anniversary and 10th Graduation of UPJ: Growing Brightly in the Era of Technology
Bintaro, South Tangerang, 09/09/2024 - Universitas Pembangunan Jaya (UPJ) celebrated its 13th anniversary and 10th graduation ceremony in a grand event held at Hall Nusantara, ICE BSD, Tangerang Regency, Banten. A total of 663 graduates, along with their families, attended this ceremony, marking the culmination of their academic journey at UPJ.
This year, UPJ achieved the highest number of graduates from the Management Study Program, with 178 graduates (26.85 percent), followed by Communication Studies with 123 graduates (18.55 percent), Information Systems with 78 graduates (11.76 percent), Accounting with 64 graduates (9.65 percent), Visual Communication Design with 58 graduates (8.75 percent), Psychology with 50 graduates (7.54 percent), Informatics with 37 graduates (5.58 percent), Civil Engineering with 33 graduates (4.98 percent), Architecture with 28 graduates (4.22 percent), and Product Design with 14 graduates (2.11 percent).
Ir. Frans Satyaki Sunito, President of UPJ, led the procession of the tassel-turning ceremony, symbolizing academic achievement. He invited all graduates to move their tassels from left to right as an official sign of graduation.
In his speech, UPJ Rector Ir. Yudi Samyudia, Ph.D., expressed his pride in UPJ's continuous growth and development into one of the leading private universities in Indonesia. "At its 13th year, UPJ continues to grow and develop into a private university in Indonesia that we are proud of. Currently, in the 2023/2024 academic year, there are more than 600 graduates. With the theme 'Growing Brightly,' graduates are faced with the rapid development of technology," he said.
A touching moment occurred when the graduates' representatives presented flowers to their parents. Tears of pride and joy, accompanied by the UPJ Choir's song, made this moment one of the most memorable before the closing of the graduation ceremony.
As a student representative, Ananda Aurelia from the Architecture Study Program expressed her deep gratitude to the lecturers and the entire UPJ academic community. "Graduation is the beginning of a new life that we shape for the future. Congratulations to all graduates. Hopefully, we will become professionals with character, culture, and values. We grew from UPJ, and we will develop all the potential and knowledge we have gained," Ananda said emotionally.
