UPJ and Monash University, Indonesia Sign MoU for Master's Scholarships

Bintaro, Tangerang Selatan 19/09/2024 – Universitas Pembangunan Jaya (UPJ) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Monash University, Indonesia, at the multifunction room of UPJ’s Library, Building B. This MoU marks a strategic partnership between the two universities, specifically for a Master's scholarship program for UPJ students who wish to pursue further studies at Monash University, Indonesia.

The event was attended by representatives from Monash University, Indonesia, who reaffirmed Monash University’s commitment to supporting the improvement of education quality in Indonesia. The event is part of a series of activities from a previous meeting in Jakarta, where UPJ was selected as one of nine private university partners collaborating with Monash University.

“This scholarship is a concrete step in strengthening academic cooperation between UPJ and Monash University, and opens opportunities for students to receive world-class education,” said Robby Sutrisna, Senior Marketing Officer of Monash University, Indonesia.

This scholarship is designed for outstanding UPJ students who wish to pursue a Master’s degree. The program offers flexibility, including the opportunity to join a mobility program, where students can complete part of their studies at Monash University, Indonesia, and the remainder at Monash's main campus in Australia.

Prof. Matthew Nicholson, a representative from Monash University, added, “This MoU is a token of my appreciation. Thank you for joining Monash University. We are committed to maintaining this key collaboration between the universities.”

The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) includes several areas of cooperation, such as education and training, university pathways, applied research and studies, community service, and other potential collaborations in the field of education.

Monash University, Indonesia, serves as a solution for students who want to receive world-class education without leaving Indonesia. With the mobility program, students have the chance to experience the international academic atmosphere in Australia while still gaining relevant local experiences in Indonesia.

This partnership is expected to support the government's vision of improving the quality of education in Indonesia by bringing leading educational institutions into the country.
