Luna Maya Presents at UPJ: Inspiring the Young Generation to Become Successful Entrepreneurs

Bintaro, South Tangerang 20/11/2024 - Universitas Pembangunan Jaya (UPJ) held a “NAMA Goes to Campus” event, which brought together Luna Maya, a successful actress and entrepreneur, as well as the founder of NAMA Beauty. The event was attended by more than 100 Santo Leo 3 high school students and UPJ students who were enthusiastic about learning from Luna's real-life experience in building a business.  

Through the sharing session, Luna Maya shared her journey in building NAMA Beauty, a local skincare brand that has been present for 5 years in Indonesia. Luna conveyed an important message about the courage to dream, consistency in working hard, and the spirit to keep learning amidst the challenges of the business world.  

“Nothing is impossible if we are willing to work hard and not afraid to fail. All success starts from small steps” said Luna Maya, besides that she also gave motivation to prospective entrepreneurs, ‘as entrepreneurs we must remain enthusiastic when criticism comes and immediately evaluate the criticism’ she concluded.   

In this session, Luna also shared practical tips on marketing strategies in the digital era, product innovation, and the importance of understanding consumer needs to stay relevant in a competitive market. The participants were invited to be more sensitive to business opportunities and use their skills as the main capital to start a business.  

The Rector of Universitas Pembangunan Jaya, Ir. Yudi Samyudia, Ph.D. expressed his support for this event, which is in line with UPJ's vision to produce young entrepreneurs.   

“Activities like this not only provide inspiration but also build the courage of the younger generation to take steps as entrepreneurs. And self-confidence must arise when we pursue a business,” he said.    

The event was also enlivened by an interactive booth from NAMA Beauty, where participants tried out the brand's superior products. Not to forget, an interactive question and answer session gave participants the opportunity to dig deeper into Luna's experience and views on the business world.   

The success of the “NAMA Goes to Campus” event shows the importance of collaboration between educational institutions and the industrial world in encouraging the entrepreneurial potential of the younger generation.
