IDUPJ Accounting Students Explore SIA for Construction Projects with PT Jaya Kontruksi
Bintaro, South Tangerang, 02/12/2024 - Universitas Pembangunan Jaya (UPJ) Department of Accounting once again held a guest lecture entitled “Accounting Information System in Construction Projects”. The event was attended by accounting students' class of 2023, lecturers of the Department of Accounting, and expert speakers from PT Jaya Kontruksi, Bagas Jesstiadika, S.E.
Taking place at the UPJ Theater, this agenda aims to broaden students' insights regarding the application of accounting information systems (AIS) in complex construction project management. Through hands-on experience and exposure from practitioners, students are expected to understand the important role of AIS in efficient and accurate project management.
“This program is designed to strengthen students' understanding of the real application of accounting information systems, especially in the highly dynamic construction industry,” said one of UPJ's Accounting lecturers in his speech.
In this session, Bagas Jesstiadika explained the strategic role of AIS in supporting the success of construction projects, from planning, monitoring, to financial reporting. This session was accompanied by an interactive discussion with students who were very enthusiastic about asking about the speakers' experience in the field.
“Through this activity, I understood the importance of information technology integration in construction project accounting. This provides new insights that are relevant for my future career,” said one of the accounting students, Adinda, excitedly.
The guest lecture was closed with appreciation to the speakers, a joint documentation session, and a thank you from the organizers. This event further emphasizes UPJ's commitment to equipping its students with the latest knowledge that is in line with industry needs.
