UPJ Attends the Shining Campus MoU Ceremony: Commitment to Prevent Narcotics Abuse

Bintaro, South Tangerang 13/12/2024 - Universitas Pembangunan Jaya (UPJ) participated in the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signing ceremony facilitated by LLDIKTI Region IV on Friday, December 6, 2025. The event brought together around 80 universities with the West Java Provincial National Narcotics Agency (BNNP) and the West Java Alliance of College Volunteers Against Narcotics Abuse (ARTIPENA) to support the Narcotics Prevention, Eradication, Abuse and Illicit Trafficking (P4GN) program.

UPJ was represented by Vice Rector II for Operations Elisabeth Rukmini, Ph.D. who emphasized the important role of universities in creating a safe, healthy, and drug-free campus environment. “We fully support the Bersinar Campus initiative. As an educational institution, UPJ is committed to creating a young generation that is smart, has integrity, and is free from the threat of drugs,” said UPJ Vice Rector II.

The event was also attended by the Head of the West Java National and Political Unity Agency, Dr. Drs. H. R. Iip Hidajat, M.Pd., who expressed his appreciation for this strategic collaboration. “Collaboration between universities and related institutions is an important key in fighting the threat of narcotics in the educational environment,” he said.

BNNP West Java Young Expert Community Activist, Asep Badarudin, S.Pd., reminded that the danger of narcotics has become a big challenge in society, especially among the younger generation. “The role of the campus is vital in changing the perception that drugs are a serious threat, not just a lifestyle,” he said.

With the active participation of 220 universities, including UPJ, the Bersinar Campus program is expected to create a conducive environment for students to develop without the threat of drugs. This step is also clear evidence that the synergy between universities, BNNP West Java, and ARTIPENA can be a strong foundation in building a healthy, creative, and highly competitive future for the younger generation.

UPJ is committed to keeping the academic community in the campus environment free from the dangers of narcotics. UPJ itself has undergone cooperation with BBN South Tangerang City in July 2024, this event was held in conjunction with the annual Anti-Drug Day. The event, which was held in the UPJ Hall, presented 300 students who were given direct counseling about the dangers of narcotics by the head of the South Tangerang City BNN.   Funiv
