UPJ Students Campaign for Sustainable Lifestyle at “Sustainable Lifestyle” Exhibition
Bintaro, South Tangerang 31/12/2024 - The Communication Science students of Universitas Pembangunan Jaya (UPJ) class of 2022 hosted an exhibition titled “Sustainable Lifestyle” at the Hall on the 3rd floor of Building B. This significant event marked the culmination of the Environmental Communication course and served as a platform to educate visitors about the importance of adopting a sustainable lifestyle to protect the environment.
The exhibition featured a total of 38 creatively designed booths, each addressing various environmental and social issues through innovative campaigns. Notable campaigns included Cambrick Volution, Rise by Steps, Anxiety-Free Students, Marine Security Task Force, and Smart Love Delay First. Each booth employed an interactive approach to provide in-depth information on the issues and practical solutions that the community can implement.
Fasya Syifa Mutma, S.I.Kom., M.I.Kom., lecturer of the Environmental Communication course, highlighted that the exhibition is an integral part of the students' learning process in effectively communicating environmental issues.
“This exhibition serves as a medium for our students to deliver the campaign messages they have meticulously developed. In addition, they have been actively conducting both online and offline campaigns to broaden the reach of their messages. Through this event, we hope to raise public awareness of environmental issues and inspire real action to protect the environment,” Fasya explained.
Fasya further emphasized that the aim of this activity is to foster a deep understanding, raise awareness, and encourage behavioral changes among people. The primary focus of the exhibition is to educate about the importance of an environmentally friendly lifestyle through creative and communicative methods.
One of the standout booths was Anxiety-Free Students, represented by Saskia and Yulia. They shared insights into the preparation of their campaign.
“Our initial step was to conduct research to analyze the campus environment and identify common issues faced by UPJ students. Our biggest challenge was designing and creating content for the booth that would captivate visitors' attention,” said Saskia.
Through their campaign, Saskia and Yulia aim to raise awareness among UPJ students about anxiety and encourage more individuals to care and take action to address the issue.
The “Sustainable Lifestyle” exhibition exemplifies the commitment of UPJ Communication Science students to educate the public about sustainable living. The students' enthusiasm and creativity were evident in every aspect of the booths, making the event an inspiring experience for visitors.
With various innovative campaigns, the event is expected to positively impact not only the campus environment but also the wider community. This exhibition underscores the role of UPJ students as agents of change, capable of conveying crucial messages through engaging and creative approaches.
