Universitas Pembangunan Jaya (UPJ) Holds XXI Judicium, 252 Graduates Ready to Pursue Careers

Bintaro, South Tangerang 28/02/2024 - Universitas Pembangunan Jaya (UPJ) celebrated its XXI Yudisium, marking the graduation of 252 students from the Faculty of Humanities and Business and the Faculty of Engineering and Design. The solemn event was graced by the presence of the Rector, Ir. Yudi Samyudia, Ph.D., alongside Heads of Study Programs, lecturers, and campus officials. In addition to the academic procession, the yudisium featured a career seminar with representatives from PT Pembangunan Jaya Group and successful UPJ alumni from the professional world.

In his address, Rector Ir. Yudi Samyudia, Ph.D. emphasized the importance of soft skills in addition to academic competence. He expressed his hope that graduates would be able to adapt to the increasingly dynamic world of work.

“In the professional world, beyond academic competence, soft skills such as communication, collaboration, and leadership are key to success. We hope that UPJ graduates will not only excel in their fields but also adapt and positively impact society,” stated the Rector.

The Faculty of Humanities and Business proudly graduated 151 students, achieving an average GPA of 3.38. The breakdown of graduates per study program is as follows:

  • Accounting: 22 graduates

  • Management: 87 graduates

  • Psychology: 20 graduates

  • Communication Science: 22 graduates

The Faculty of Engineering and Design graduated 101 students across five study programs:

  • Information Systems: 41 graduates

  • Informatics: 25 graduates

  • Civil Engineering: 23 graduates

  • Architecture: 4 graduates

  • Product Design: 1 graduate

As part of the graduation ceremony, UPJ hosted a career seminar featuring representatives from PT Pembangunan Jaya Group and alumni who have thrived in various industries. This session provided graduates with insights into career opportunities, workplace challenges, and strategies for building professionalism.

Nadira Siti Nurfajrina, a UPJ alumna, shared her experiences in the workforce during the seminar.

“Education at UPJ provided a strong foundation, not only in theory but also in practice. The key is to keep learning and build a professional network,” shared Nadira, who now works in the Architecture sector and serves as the Chairperson of the UPJ Alumni Association.

UPJ Deans also shared messages and hopes for their graduates. Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Business, Dra. Clara Evi Citraningtyas, M.A., Ph.D., emphasized the importance of competitiveness in the ever-evolving business world.

“You have been equipped with knowledge and experience at UPJ. Now, it's time to showcase your abilities and continue developing your skills to become excellent professionals,” she said.

Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Design, Danto Sukmajati, ST, M.Sc., Ph.D., highlighted the importance of adapting to technological advancements in engineering and design.

“Technology is rapidly evolving, including in engineering and design. UPJ graduates are expected to innovate and stay current with industry trends,” he noted.

Through this XXI Yudisium, Universitas Pembangunan Jaya reaffirms its commitment to producing graduates who are not only academically proficient but also ready to tackle the challenges of the workforce with exceptional skills and innovation.
