Bintaro, South Tangerang 05/03/2025 - Universitas Pembangunan Jaya (UPJ) has once again demonstrated its exceptional capabilities, with Civil Engineering lecturer Dr. Ir. Resdiansyah, S.T., M.T., IPM, taking on a significant role in the government. He has been officially appointed as a Principal Expert at the Presidential Staff Office of the Republic of Indonesia (KSP). This prestigious appointment is a testament to the superior and relevant competencies of UPJ’s academics in supporting national strategic policies, particularly in the realms of infrastructure and regional development.
In his capacity as Principal Expert, Dr. Resdiansyah is tasked with providing policy recommendations related to sustainable infrastructure development. His extensive experience, which includes serving as Chief of Transportation at Ibu Kota Nusantara (IKN), has equipped him with the expertise needed to plan and implement modern transportation systems in Indonesia.
Dr. Resdiansyah highlighted the academic excellence that sets UPJ apart from other universities, especially in the field of civil engineering. “Civil Engineering at Universitas Pembangunan Jaya is unique. Unlike other institutions that focus separately on transportation, construction, drainage, or water resources, UPJ integrates all these aspects into a cohesive Urban Infrastructure concept,” he explained.
The innovative Urban Infrastructure concept developed by UPJ enjoys the full support of 23 companies within the Jaya Group. “Collaboration with Jaya Group enables students to gain practical experience on real infrastructure projects, thus better preparing our graduates for the challenges of the professional world,” he added.
In addition to a curriculum tailored to industry needs, UPJ boasts an exceptional teaching staff. “At UPJ, all lecturers are practitioners active in their respective industries. This ensures that students receive applicable and up-to-date knowledge aligned with current development trends in Indonesia,” Dr. Resdiansyah noted.
As infrastructure development continues to grow in Indonesia, the demand for experts in this field is on the rise. Dr. Resdiansyah emphasized the critical role of academics in supporting infrastructure policy. “Sustainable development will be a primary focus of the government in the future. Hence, universities like UPJ must continue to produce highly competent graduates in this field,” he stated.
With Dr. Resdiansyah’s appointment as KSP Principal Expert, it is anticipated that the contribution of academics to public policy will be further strengthened. UPJ reaffirms its commitment as a campus dedicated to the development of urban infrastructure and urban studies, both of which are highly relevant to national development needs.
