The Communication Studies Program at Universitas Pembangunan Jaya (UPJ) successfully organized the Collaboration Festival (CoFest) 2025, a decade-long celebration held from May 19 to 31, 2025. Centered on the theme “Freedom of Expression” and the tagline “One Creation, No Limitation,” the festival served as a dynamic platform for fostering creativity, knowledge-sharing, and industry engagement.

CoFest 2025 featured a distinguished lineup of seminars, hosting speakers such as Donita Nugroho (Actress), Fadi Iskandar (Presenter & Content Creator), Ethan Buntario (VP of Product at Noice), Berliana Naftali Esmalia Sinaga (Event Marketing & KOL Lead at Female Daily), Ramadhika Dwi Poetra (Head of Influencer Marketing at PT Cahaya Ayu Abadi), and Ninditya Dezahra (Head of Social Media & Creative Producer at Unseen). The festival was further enhanced by vibrant musical performances from The Panturas and Berita Disko and engaging pre-event activities, including a Karaoke Night and Baking Class. The festivities culminated in the CoFest Competition, a futsal tournament welcoming high school and vocational school participants from across the Jakarta metropolitan area. The festival collectively attracted an audience exceeding 2,000 participants.

Empowering Young Creators: Seminar Highlights

The festival commenced with a Grand Opening Ceremony, followed by an insightful seminar titled “Free to Create, Empowered in the Industry,” featuring actress and content creator Donita Nugroho. She shared her experiences navigating the entertainment industry while maintaining authenticity, emphasizing the importance of intentional creativity: "Never be afraid or lazy to try. Free to create doesn’t mean creating recklessly. Explore your abilities, but don’t go overboard," she advised during an interview on May 19, 2025.

Subsequent sessions included Alumni Talks on Current Marketing Strategies, led by Berliana Naftali and Ramadhika Dwi Poetra, as well as a panel discussion on “Podcasts as a Creative Space for Expression” featuring Ethan Buntario, Fadi Iskandar, and Ninditya Dezahra. Addressing the challenges young professionals face in the creative industry, Fadi Iskandar underscored the significance of strong personal intention: "Set your intentions! Because it is from those intentions that you can start something with unwavering determination," he stated during an interview on May 20, 2025.

A Celebration of Music and Competition

The pinnacle of CoFest 2025 was the CoFest Music Concert on May 23, 2025, attracting over 1,500 attendees. The event featured electrifying performances by The Panturas and Berita Disko, captivating audiences with their energetic presence. "Exciting, lively, and interactive!" remarked The Panturas in an interview following their performance. Berita Disko, in turn, evoked nostalgia through innovative remixes of beloved local songs, further enriching the festival’s celebratory ambiance.

CoFest 2025 concluded with the CoFest Competition, an annual futsal tournament fostering student creativity and promoting unrestricted self-expression. The tournament reached its climax when SMAN 28 Kabupaten Tangerang secured the championship, marking a triumphant and exhilarating finale. "Participating in CoFest was an amazing, well-organized, and fun experience," shared the Dastha team from SMAN 28 Kabupaten Tangerang.

CoFest: A Legacy of Creativity and Collaboration

Since its inception in 2015, CoFest has served as a vital forum for young innovators to sharpen their creative skills, expand professional networks, and express groundbreaking ideas. The festival underwent a significant transformation in 2019, officially rebranding from COMMFEST to Collaboration Festival (CoFest)—an event that attracted over 5,000 attendees at its main venue, Bintaro Jaya Xchange Mall. In 2021, CoFest embraced digital evolution with its first virtual edition, themed “Digital Creativity Driving the Generation.” Subsequent editions continued to reflect cultural and technological shifts, such as the “Digital-Savvy Generation” theme of 2022, featuring notable speakers like Raditya Dika and Fajar Nugraha.

In 2023, CoFest transitioned back to an offline format, post-pandemic, with “The Voice of the 90s,” showcasing Diary Misteri Sara as a speaker and musical acts Om Leo Berkaraoke and Reality Club, attracting over 4,000 attendees. The 2024 edition celebrated Indonesia’s rich cultural heritage through the theme “Indonesian Heritage.” Now, in 2025, CoFest stands as a tribute to youth empowerment, creative freedom, and industry innovation, featuring inspirational speakers and renowned guest performers, ensuring an ever-expanding legacy of engagement and inspiration.
