UPJ and Smart Multifinance Equip Students with Financial Literacy for a Prosperous Future

Bintaro, South Tangerang, June 23, 2025 - In an effort to enhance students’ non-academic competencies, the Jaya Career Center (JCC) of Universitas Pembangunan Jaya (UPJ), in collaboration with Smart Multifinance, organized a seminar entitled “A Prosperous Future with Financial Planning.” Held at Theater 1 of UPJ, the event was attended by numerous students across diverse academic disciplines who demonstrated strong enthusiasm for deepening their understanding of financial literacy.

The seminar featured Ananda Laksono, CFP®, a certified financial planner renowned for his extensive experience in public financial education, particularly targeting youth audiences. In his address, Ananda underscored that financial planning is not solely relevant to professionals and entrepreneurs, but is equally critical for students preparing for future responsibilities.

He emphasized the importance of cultivating sound financial habits from an early age—such as preparing a monthly budget, distinguishing between needs and wants, and understanding long-term investment instruments, including mutual funds and government bonds. He further asserted that financial decisions made during youth significantly influence long-term quality of life, positioning basic money management as a cornerstone for fostering stability and independence.

The seminar was marked by an interactive and engaging atmosphere. Students actively posed questions concerning personal financial challenges, ranging from managing their monthly allowances to exploring investment opportunities. Ananda responded to each inquiry with clarity and relatability, employing a communicative approach that resonated with the student audience. In addition to addressing the technical dimensions of financial planning, representatives from Smart Multifinance also introduced students to career pathways within the dynamic and evolving financial services sector.

This initiative reflects JCC UPJ’s broader commitment to equipping students with practical life skills aligned with contemporary societal demands.
