UPJ's 5th Research Week Concludes, Affirming Commitment to Innovation and Service

Bintaro, South Tangerang, June 26, 2025 — Universitas Pembangunan Jaya (UPJ) officially concluded its Fifth Annual Research Week on Friday, 20 June 2025, with the dissemination of research findings and community engagement outcomes. This event marked the culmination of a week-long academic initiative, which commenced on 16 June 2025.

Carrying the theme “Empowering Innovation: The Next Chapter of Discovery,” the Fifth Research Week showcased a series of scholarly activities, including thematic webinars, faculty development workshops, and the publication of the sixth volume of the Urban Studies Collection.

The webinar series, titled Urban Studies Webinar Series, was curated by five academic clusters at UPJ—Architecture and Civil Engineering; Computer Science and Information Systems; Accounting and Management; Visual Communication Design and Product Design; and Communication Science and Psychology. These webinars addressed pressing urban challenges and were made accessible online to both internal and external audiences.

To further enhance institutional academic capacity, two targeted workshops were held for faculty and educational staff:

  • Workshop on Managing the Open Journal System (OJS)—18 June 2025

  • Social Media Workshop with Urban Society—19June 2025

As the final event, a poster exhibition was held on 20 June to disseminate research and community service outputs. Faculty members from diverse programs presented the outcomes of their scholarly and civic initiatives, which were subsequently evaluated by the LP2M review board.

More than a symbolic conclusion, this event also served as a reflective platform to assess the orientation and quality of UPJ’s research and community service. In his opening remarks, the head of LP2M emphasized that “Research Week is not merely an annual celebration but a collaborative space to exchange ideas, nurture scientific inquiry, and foster interdisciplinary engagement.”

With the successful execution of its Fifth Research Week, UPJ reaffirms its identity as an urban-oriented university committed not only to academic excellence but also to advancing innovation and collaborative solutions in response to the complexities of contemporary and future urban life.
